Most maintenance contracts are a rolling apology for work someone else did badly. That’s not our offer. We keep well-built sites well-kept – or we quietly fix the worst of an inherited mess first, then move it onto a plan that makes sense.

Monthly plans · Cancel any time

Three tiers. No surprises.

Pick the plan that fits the size and sensitivity of your site. You can move up or down at the start of any month – and cancel whenever, for any reason.

What happens every month

Six things done, every month, without you asking.

Maintenance isn’t a single big thing – it’s a rhythm of small, unglamorous tasks done consistently. Here’s the rhythm.

Task · 01

Backups that actually restore

Off-site, encrypted, tested monthly by restoring to a sandbox. A backup you haven’t tried is just hope.

Task · 02

Updates, staged first

Core, themes, and plugins updated on a staging URL, tested, then promoted. No live-site gambling with your business.

Task · 03

Security monitoring

Malware scans, WAF rules, file-integrity checks, and hardened login. Every month, not just after the first incident.

Task · 04

Uptime alerts

One-minute check intervals. If your site goes down at 3am, we know before you do – and we’re already looking.

Task · 05

Performance checks

PageSpeed, Core Web Vitals, database health reviewed quarterly. Slow creep caught before your users feel it.

Task · 06

Plain-English reporting

A PDF each month that a non-technical founder can actually read. Three numbers, a summary, the receipts.

DIY vs NineGravity

Because “I’ll do it myself” is a project that never ships.

You could absolutely do this work. Most people don’t – and the ones who do start, usually stop. Here’s the honest comparison.

Task If you DIY Full plan · $249/mo
Off-site backups UpdraftPlus Premium · $95/yr Included · tested quarterly
Malware scanner Wordfence Premium · $149/yr Included · reviewed by a human
Uptime monitoring UptimeRobot Pro · $84/yr Included · SMS alerts
Plugin updates Your time · ≈1hr/week Included · staging-tested
PageSpeed tuning A tutorial weekend Quarterly · done for you
Monthly report You make a spreadsheet Ready in your inbox
When something breaks You, at 9pm, on Google Us, within 4 hours
Total cost $328/yr tools + your time $2,988/yr · everything above

You are capable of all of this. You are not, statistically, going to do it for three years running.

The cadence

What we do – and when.

Rhythm · 01

Watching

Every day

Uptime probes run every minute. Malware scans, file-integrity checks, and security log review run overnight on Full plans.

Rhythm · 02

Updating

Every week

Plugin and theme updates reviewed for compatibility, tested on staging, then promoted with one-click rollback ready.

Rhythm · 03

Reporting

Every month

Health report generated and emailed on the 1st. A summary a founder can read in 90 seconds, with the data if you want to dig.

Rhythm · 04

Tuning

Every quarter

PageSpeed review, database optimization, and a cleanup pass for unused media and plugins. A light tidy, not a rebuild.

Nik’s team did a redesign of my website and really opened my eyes as far as what was possible. They took the content I had, which was presented in a very old / dated format, and reworked it to make it more accessible. The result is a website that is more aligned with customer expectations and is easier for them…

Nik’s team has been responsive to our WordPress development needs during the past couple of years. NineGravity was the first offshore team that we’ve worked with and apart from the anticipated challenges of time difference, projects have been managed smoothly.

Questions about maintenance

Answered before you ask.

No. Most maintenance clients inherited sites we didn’t build. We’ll do a free 30-minute onboarding audit, fix anything critical (malware, broken backups, neglected plugins) before it enters the plan, and give you a clear report of what we found. If the site is genuinely in a bad state, we’ll tell you honestly and quote a one-time cleanup before starting the monthly cadence.
Content updates, small design tweaks, adding a new landing page, swapping out images, publishing a blog post – the small routine work that shouldn’t require a quote each time. Anything that takes more than the included minutes each month is scoped separately at $95/hour, always quoted in advance.
We restore it from the last good backup, same day, no extra charge. “Your fault” is almost never actually your fault – a bad plugin update, a rogue third-party script, an errant paste in the editor – and none of that changes our response.
Any time. Give us 14 days’ notice so we can hand over clean access credentials and a final report. No cancellation fee, no guilt email, no retention offer you didn’t ask for.
Just maintain. Hosting stays with you (Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, or wherever you’re happy). We access via a managed credential – and we’ll make recommendations if your current host is genuinely holding the site back.
All three plans support WooCommerce. Note that stores with 500+ products or 1,000+ orders/month are best served by the Full plan minimum – the extra monitoring and daily backups earn their keep quickly.
Q3 2026. We’re taking a waitlist now – you’ll get first refusal at the launch rate, and you can pilot the tier for 60 days before committing.

See what we’d be protecting before you sign up.

Inherited sites get a baseline audit before maintenance starts. A scored PDF. A clean handoff. A site we both understand.
