A motion-led website for a studio that builds brands people feel.

Build Smart Brands is built on a simple claim: a brand is something people feel before they can name it, and that feeling can be engineered through behavioral psychology and neuroscience. Founder Kelli Binnings works through a five-pillar method of Signal, Meaning, Authenticity, Resonance, and Traction. A site that explained all of this in flat, static text would have argued against itself.

The brief also asked one site to do four jobs. It had to work as a portfolio, host a long-running library of brand-psychology writing, explain a proprietary method clearly enough to follow, and run as a store for products and creative swag. Most studio sites commit to one of those. This one had to hold all of them without reading like separate sites stitched together.

It also had to move. Static pages would undercut the brand-as-experience argument, but motion that gets in the way is worse than no motion at all. The animation had to earn its place by pacing the read, revealing structure, and never slowing the page down.

We built the site by hand in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on WordPress, with GSAP driving the animation and Lenis handling smooth scroll. Every section arrives on a deliberate cadence, so the experience reads the way the method describes: a clear signal first, meaning underneath, the rest in sequence. The motion guides attention rather than performing for its own sake.

Underneath it, the site runs as a real platform. WooCommerce powers the store and order tracking, Gravity Forms and Contact Form 7 handle project inquiries and specialist-network sign-ups, and the writing library is a filterable archive built to keep growing. One site does the work of a portfolio, a publication, a method explainer, and a shop, and none of it reads as bolted on.
